Besides craftsmanship and sustainability, I think that a third paradigm could be the existence of fantasy, narrative and imagination, as a way to respond to the very hard post crisis conditions. It can be seen in some works of the young Japanese architects: I think it's very specific of Japan but it could be interesting to see how could be exported to other cultures.
In China, there is very much an attention to craftsmanship in the smaller scale. In contrast with big developments made by foreign architects, there are small works produced by the Chinese architects who go back to a certain tradition of construction. I think some architects like Wang Shu feel the urgency of learning from the craftsmanship tradition before it disappears because of the extremely fast Chinese development conditions.
